Built slightly later than surrounding properties in the 1890s, Eastbourne Guest House was a gentleman's residence of great quality. The enitre house has been sympathetically refurbished and redecorated in the last few years to the highest standard with larger shower enclosures and power showers (superior and deluxe rooms). We are a friendly, family run guesthouse exclusively for non smokers and with ample private parking. We do not take children and have no family rooms. All our rooms are en-suite.There are six spacious and very well appointed larger rooms together with two smaller double rooms and a small single. We have a Four Poster room on the ground floor which is suitable for those who wish to have a more luxurious stay. Every attention is paid to comfort and relaxation. Seven of the rooms have sofas, LCD TV, DVD, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. Situated in an elevated position just below the picturesque Lakeland viewpoint of Biskey Howe, the Eastbourne is in a quiet yet convenient area of Bowness-on-Windermere. Many shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants are nearby with lake Windermere just a 10 minute stroll away. The Eastbourne has some very spacious bedrooms which are traditional and comfortable in style , with ample room for sofas to ensure relaxation. In addition Eastbourne has a Silver Award for Quality. Whether staying at Eastbourne for a week or just a couple of days you are sure to be comfortable.
The Eastbourne has ten ensuite bedrooms six of which are spacious with large sofas. There are also three smaller standard rooms and a small single. All rooms have ensuite shower rooms, satellite TV, DVD players and Wi-Fi access together with well stocked hospitality trays, kettle, clock/radio, miniature ironing board and iron and a fan for those hot days/nights. We have a host of leaflets, maps, walks and ideas for your days out and an expert "tourist guide" in your host Martin.
There is a library of books and DVDs available for guests to browse through. Wifi broadband is provided throughout the house for those who need to keep in touch. We are happy to give advice on local attractions and good walks. Private parking is available for all guests cars.

The Eastbourne is built on a rising site and there are three steps up to the ground floor so for instance "wheelchair users" would require assistance to gain access and because of the tight geography it is not possible to install a ramp. However once inside we do have a fully accessible ground floor bedroom with level access and a large walk in shower. The Breakfast room is also on the ground floor.
