The Queens Head Inn lies in the centre of the Northumbrian village of Rothbury in the heart of the Coquet Valley. Within 1 mile of the Queens is CRAGSIDE House and Gardens. Cragside was the first house to be entirely lit by hydro-electric power and the gardens are the biggest rockery in the world. November sees the Gardens lit up with magical evening walks around the lake call for details. We are within 15 minutes drive of the town of ALNWICK famous for its markets Castle (of Harry Potter fame) and gardens. Northumberland has more castles and fortified houses than any other English County. Other castles worth a visit are BAMBURGH WARKWORTH and the spectacular cliff top ruins of DUNSTANBURGH. The national park is on our doorstep and an 18 hole golf course within a short walk. The Northumberland coastline is as spectacular as it is varied - from rugged cliffs to stretches of golden sandy beaches. Dotted along the coastline are many seaside villages and sites to enjoy such as CRASTER SEAHOUSES and ALNMOUTH. The Holy Island of LINDISFARNE is also within easy reach. All of our rooms are comfortable with en-suite facilities central heating flat screen colour television/dvds tea/coffee/biscuits hospitality trays hairdryers and electric shaver points and they are all non-smoking. There is private parking and a patio garden with smoking shelter. The Queens Head is noted for its excellent home cooked meals using the best of local and seasonal produce. We also make our own sausages black pudding and haggis so whether you choose a bar meal or something from the daily blackboard you will not be disappointed. Our Restaurant is on the ground floor opposite the homely local Bar where you can enjoy a drink before and after Dinner. Lunch and evening meals can also be taken in the Bar. We have 7 en-suite bedrooms 4 double/family rooms and 3 twin rooms. We have 1 twin on the first floor and 2 on the top (third) floor 3 doubles on the second floor and 1 on the third.
All rooms are en-suite and have flat screen colour remote TVs with inbuilt DVD player shaver points hair dryers and hospitality trays. There is a TV lounge breakfast room and meeting room available.

Our restaurant and bar are accessible via level access from the front entrance. Wheelchairs can access the bar restaurant and public toilets. Our rooms are not suitable for anyone who cannot climb 2 flights of stairs.
