Most have day fishing permit subject to having a fishing licence. Way marked walks are in abundance all over the area with several quaint old-fashioned public houses offering good quality food conveniently situated after a thirsty stroll. For those wanting a longer journey the Lake District is only 1 hours drive away. For those who like a touch of retail therapy the Metro Centre Europe's largest retail complex is only 50 minutes drive away along the A1(M) motorway.
