Innkeepers Cottage provides luxury accommodation in a rustic 17th Century cottage in the picturesque village of Frosterley. This character building retains its original features, including beamed ceilings, a cosy open fire and wooden floors and has been sympathetically refurbished to an exceptionally high standard. The four star cottage is perfect for a romantic break. With an open log fire, the sitting room is ideal for those cosy evenings in after a day spent exploring the dales. The country style kitchen has been hand made by local craftsman in solid pine and the large bedroom has a sumptuously comfy double bed with a feature fireplace. All rooms have been tastefully furnished and have a nostalgic feel. Located in beautiful Weardale, County Durham, the cottage is ideally located for touring the area: visit historic Durham, the pretty market town of Barnard Castle, Teesdale and Northumberland. The area also offers many walking and bird watching opportunities. If you would prefer to just sit and relax, there is a small raised garden with patio to the rear, which overlooks fields with sheep, rabbits and hens. Frosterley is a small ancient village set in a conservation area, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Just five minutes walk from the cottage is the most fabulous country pub and coffee house in the whole of Weardale, The Black Bull Inn, serving traditional beers and ciders, good food, excellent coffee, beautiful scones and desserts.
