For a self-catering break in a peaceful setting, Ville di Lindos should be on any holiday wish list. With an understated sophistication and absolutely no airs and graces, a stay here is all about simply relaxing in the sun. Better yet, because this is a family-run complex, guests are treated like a friend, not a room number.
In fact, it's home from home living here. The studios are really spacious with contemporary décor and all the mod cons – plus most look out over the pool area and colourful gardens. There’s also an on-site supermarket and the restaurant serves breakfast in the morning and Italian and Greek delights at lunch for those who don’t want to cook.
Outside, the eye-catching studios are painted in Miami-pinks and rich terracotta colours – a striking contrast against the tropical-style gardens and turquoise-blue pool. Speaking of the pool, this one's a tranquil retreat surrounded by immaculate lawns, tropical plants and plenty of sun beds and parasols. There's even a poolside bar serving snacks and drinks.
Location-wise, it's in a spot set nicely away from the hustle and bustle of the main resorts. And to add a bit more glamour – the surrounding area was the location for the filming of The Guns of Navarone. Should you wish to get out and about though, it's a 20 minute walk to the nearest beach, while Lindos is about half-an-hour away. Here, there's all the usual range of shops, bars and restaurants.
