In Stillingfleet itself there is a Norman Church, pleasant countryside walks and an award winning nursery and Garden at Stillingfleet Lodge which is open on specific afternoons in the summer for a visit and a cup of tea. McArthur Glen designer outlet is nearby, with park and ride facitlites into York. There are also several golf courses, fishing ponds and riding schools locally with the Trans-pennine cycleway nearby. Although in a countryside location, there are petrol stations, ATMs, post offices, supermarkets and a butcher within a few minutes drive. Nearby pubs/ restaurants include The Blacksmiths Arms at Naburn, The Santhai restaurant at Escrick and the Spice Mill Indian & Per Baco Italian restaurant at Riccall. All are a couple of miles away by car (or bus). The Cross keys pub in the village is a traditional village pub but currently does not provide meals Hilary was trained at the Cordon Bleu school of Cookery and has spent 25 years in the catering industry. Her love of cooking & hospitality exudes in the attention to detail of the accommodation and any special foods and diets requested. We have regular residential cookery breaks for those who wish to gain more confidence in cooking or build a new repertoire of recipes. Harmony House was a central part of village life having been a reading room, Sunday School and the rear,a former village post office. It bears the characteristics of the old property, with part of it dating back to the 17th century. It has however been renovated to accommodate a modern day lifestyle.
Harmony House is a non smoking establishment throughout and has a sensitive linked fire alarm system. Wireless internet is throughout the house and a PC/workstation, fax machine, iron and ironing board available for use on request. If you would prefer sheets and blankets instead of duvets, please ask at the time of booking.
Our Guests are welcome to use the lounge which has a digital television, large bay windows overlooking the Green and a log fire in winter. There is a bench outside to sit and take in the sunshine to enjoy the tranquility of the village, and also a bench in the porch for cooler days.

Mobility Description:
Access through the rear of the house is availble for those with mobility issues.However being an old house there are stairs and steps and low ceilings which are not conducive with mobility problems. There are 3 steps to the main house and a further two sets of stairs in the house

We do have lighter alternatives on the menu such as smoked haddock, croissant with tomatoes, bacon and field mushrooms or scrambled or poached eggs on toast or muffins. Directions:
Take the B1222 through Naburn to Stillingfleet and turn on to the Green opposite the Church. There is gravel parking after the tree on the left, and Harmony House is behind you. To be in keeping with the village, we do not have a B&B sign putside, but there is a slate name to the right of the steps leading to the house.
