Imagine yourself at Woodlands, far away from the crowds, the noise and the bustle. Drive up to the warm old Victorian house, pull the old-fashioned door bell and feel your shoulders relax as you are welcomed in. Put your feet up in the comfortable lounge in front of the open fire and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with home-made cake or wash away the dust of your journey with a glass of local ale in the bar. Picture Ireby, a traditional farming village nestling amongst the hills on the northern edge of the Lake District National Park. Step back in time and enjoy a totally unspoilt area of Cumbria where the rush hour traffic consists of the cows on their way to be milked or a flock of sheep being driven along the lanes. We would like to welcome you to Woodlands - our beautiful Victorian house, once the vicarage. We offer you personal service at all times and will do our best to ensure you are comfortable, relaxed, well fed and enjoy every moment of your stay. We hope you will make yourselves at home at Woodlands. Our peaceful lounge is just the place to relax, unwind and read the newspapers if youre not distracted by the wild birds in the garden.
Our seven bedrooms are all en-suite and are comfortably and tastefully furnished, many with period furnishings in keeping with the Victorian house. We believe that high quality mattresses, bed linen and fluffy towels are essential for your comfort. Hospitality trays include home-made shortbread or biscuits, a range of teas, fresh coffee and mineral water. All rooms have remote control colour TV and hairdryers.
Woodlands may be a haven for peace and quiet but it is also the perfect venue for small private house parties - take over the whole house and you can make as much noise as you like! We have hosted family birthday parties, anniversaries, golfing breaks and walking groups' week-ends. Make Woodlands Country House your own and enjoy a party with - no preparation no cooking and, best of all, no washing up!
