Mike and Melanie Douglas would like to welcome you to their home and make every effort to ensure you have a memorable and enjoyable stay. Guests are warmly welcomed with tea and homemade cake. Crag House is surrounded by attractive open countryside and large gardens with abundant wildlife and scenic walks. We have a hard tennis court which is available to guests by arrangement. Crag House is ideally located providing easy access to local attractions including Hadrian's Wall World Heritage site the Northumberland National Park Kielder Water and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Historic Newcastle Durham and Carlisle are within easy reach. Other attractions include the spectacular Northumberland coastline with its miles of unspoilt beaches as well as Alnwick Castle and Garden. There are numerous National Trust properties including Cragside Wallington Gibside and Seaton Delaval Hall within easy reach. The accommodation consists of one large bedroom with kingsize bed and ensuite shower room and one small double room with ensuite shower room. The bedrooms have exposed original roof timbers and dormer windows taking advantage of the spectacular views to both north and south. Beds are furnished with Fallowfield Alpaca duvets and complemented by painted pine furniture and comfortable chairs. A flat screen TV and DVD player with a selection of DVDs and an i-pod docking station are provided together with hairdryer clock radio and a beverage tray with a selection of teas coffee hot chocolate fresh milk and homemade biscuits. The en-suite shower rooms are fully tiled with luxury towels fluffy bathrobes and toiletries provided. A private sitting room is available for guests' use. Meals are a highlight of a stay at Crag House. We offer an extensive breakfast menu to cater for all tastes using our own and locally sourced produce. Either two or three course evening meals and packed lunches are available by prior arrangement
A breakfast/sitting room is provided for exclusive use of guests with a cozy wood-burning stove and antique furniture. Should the weather permit breakfast can be taken on the sheltered south-facing terrace. There is also a seating area overlooking some of the alpaca paddocks where guests can sit and enjoy the views to the west and north and enjoy the huge variety of birds and wildlife including roe deer and red squirrels which are frequent visitors.
