The Coach House Bampton is a three bedroom B&B rated four star with a gold award by "Visit Britain" and was one of the first B&Bs in great Britain to receive the much coveted "Enjoy England Breakfast Award" sponsored by Kelloggs. A recently converted stables and coach house all three rooms have en-suite bathrooms. They are full of character up in the eaves of the building with plenty of old oak beams and sloping ceilings. The comfortable beds are made with the finest Egyptian cotton linen covering top quality non-allergenic pillows and duvets. Each room is provided with a flat-screen TV wireless internet connection tea and coffee making equipment Duck Island soap and shampoo home made flapjacks and a decanter of amontillado sherry. Bampton famous for its Morris Dancing festival on the May-end bank holiday is a beautiful unspoiled Cotswold stone village with none of the tourist bustle of its more celebrated neighbours. It is however a short drive from Oxford Blenheim Palace Kelmscott Manor Silverstone the Bicester Outlet Centre Cotswold Wildlife Park and of course the famous Cotswold villages. It is also close to the young river Thames and the owners are happy to collect and drop Thames walkers from and to their stop-off points. Local restaurants and pubs are numerous and excellent. The Coach House is home to a permanent exhibition of the paintings of the celebrated artist Pip Shuckburgh co-owner of the establishment and is the Oxfordshire caveau of the Confrerie du Sabre D'Or. From the moment they opened the Coach House the owners were determined to provide a B&B experience of the quality they would expect themselves. They are just as determined today and their attention to detail and service their dictum that no guest should be surprised by anything other than the high quality of hospitality is reflected in their awards and reviews.
The Coach House has three elegant bedrooms all en-suite and full of character. They are in the eaves of the house and have high sloping ceilings and lots of old beams. Each is very well equipped with amongst other things flat screen television tea and coffee facilities home made flapjacks and a decanter of sherry. Mobility Description:
It is with regret that we have to admit that our bedrooms are all on the first floor with fairly steep stairs. It is true however that the stairs have hand-rails or the equivalent on both sides and restricted mobility has not been a problem for our older or less firm guests to date. The main entrance is close to the parking area and doesn't represent an access problem for wheelchairs or those on sticks. The whole of the ground floor on which breakfast is served is flat throughout.
