Rustic Cottage is located about a mile from the centre of the historic city of Salisbury. The cottage which is about 200 years old was completely renovated and modernised. Nevertheless with its oak beam ceilings and open fireplaces it retains much of its original charm. The cottage has consistently been awarded Quality in Tourism Council Four Star Rating and in the past two years has received Gold awards. The cottage was modernised to current environmental standards and uses a system of photovoltaic panels to supplement electricity supply. It currently hold a Green Tourism Bronze award. The cottage can sleep up to 5 people in 3 bedrooms: one is a double the second bedroom has twin beds and the third is a single. The large bathroom upstairs and shower room downstairs both have their own toilet. The fully equipped large kitchen-diner downstairs comes with modern fitted cupboards a dishwasher washing machine and microwave as well as the conventional cooking appliances. There is a cosy sitting room with original oak beamed ceiling and a traditional fireplace with a wood burning stove . Wi Fi Internet access is availble throughout the cottage. All linen bedding and energy costs included (but not fuel for stove or BBQ) We are proud of the garden which was a steep and inaccessible bank and had been the house midden since it was built and now consists of three attractive terraces. The top terrace garden enjoys beautiful views and has a lawn and a large decking area a barbecue and seating for relaxing with your meal and a drink. You can leave the kitchen dining areas through French doors to the courtyard on the lowest level. This has seating for breakfast and the odd cup of coffee in the sun. There is ample parking for 2 cars and a tranquil secluded pond. Please note that because of the steep staircase leading to the upper garden and and the pond the use of the property is not recommended for children under 5 years and elderly or disabled persons.
