Welcome to Parrock Lumb Cottages comprising The Dairy The Shippon Parrock Lumb Farm and The Lodge. All four cottages have been refurbished to an extremely high standard blending a mixture of the original stone building with the comforts of modern living. Located in Rossendale Bacup has beautiful walking country close to the Lancashire/Yorkshire border. We are situated 1100 feet above sea level and about 1.5 miles away from Bacup. Hebden Bridge is 7 miles away. Historic Haworth is about 35 minutes away and the Yorkshire Dales are less than 1 hour away The M62 is about 25 mins. Alternatively Manchester Airport is about 1 hours drive or Leeds-Bradford airport about 1 Hour 10 minutes away. Blackpool and the Pleasure Beach are 1 hour away. 40 minutes takes you to the Trafford Centre and Legoland. Whatever you need from a relaxing break you will find a warm welcome here and the views around the Pennines are simply breathtaking. At busy periods Christmas and Easter a five day minimum stay will apply. We will try to accommodate varying lengths of stay to appreciate the cottages at their best. All four cottages can be let singly or jointly there is easy access and ample parking the exterior is traditional stone walls with grey slate roofs with Victorian cast iron lamp posts. Inside the 600mm+ thick walls all is modern clean and bright with comfortable open plan living areas with leather sofas dining areas and large open plan kitchens with all modern appliances and lots of crockery. Both floors have underfloor c/heating so wandering barefoot is a simple luxury. Upstairs large comfy beds await with all duvets and towels provided. The Lodge has been fitted out for all levels of accessibility up to M3I and M3A and has a ground floor king plus first floor King.

Eco Policy:
The cottages have been restored from near derelict redundant buildings. All the stone was reused in the walls and all the grey slate roofs were turned and relaid. Nothing was wasted and all were recycled on site. All cottages have high insulation levels double glazing and energy efficient appliances. Planning permission has been obtained for a wind turbine to be erected 2011 this in now in place. Cottage visitors are encouraged to recycle as much as possible sorting bins are provided and all materials are reused where practicable. As of March 2014 we have been awarded a Silver award by the Green Tourism Scheme.

Mobility Description:
Our access statement is available in standard and large print please phone 01706 873598 for a copy. The Lodge is rated M1 M2 M3I and M3A. Three properties have upstairs bedrooms which are not suitable for wheelchair users. However we have excellent parking and low threshers downstairs so the downstairs areas with open plan living would suit people who are less disabled and travelling with friends or family. As of June 2013 our new cottage The Lodge with full disabled access is finished . The Lodge provides a downstairs master bedroom with kingsize bed at wheelchair transfer height and a professionally fitted hoist for up to 20 stones. Guests should bring their own sling. Full wetroom and accessible rainfall shower . Showerchair and seat riser for wc available. Folding wheelchair and a second king bedroom with shower/bath room at first floor to sleep 2 total occupancy 4. Dedicated parking close to the entry leads to 1 in 20 ramps with wide entry doors opening outwards.
