The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust at Martin Mere is just 2 miles away and the elegant seaside resort of Southport can be reached in 10 minutes. Just 7 miles from jct 27 of M6 all the north west's popular destinations are within easy reach. Built over a century ago these former farm buildings have been tastefully and professionally converted to provide comfortable modern easy care facilities whilst still retaining many of the original features. The Dairy The Shippon & The Granary all lie around an enclosed cobbled courtyard. Ranging in size each has its own distinctive style & character. With full central heating available for long or short stays all year round. Our latest cottage 'The Stable' is fully accessible for disabled guests with specially adapted en-suite wet room and has its own private drive. All cottages have flat screen TV & dvd player plus large assortment of books and games. The fitted kitchens are fully equipped with electric cooker automatic washing machine fridge/freezer and microwave plus all necessary kitchen utensils and equipment. Each cottage also has a patio area with table & chairs for 'al fresco' dining and a large garden and play area for the children. Electricity bed linen and towels are all included at no extra cost. Travel cot high chair and safety gate are all available if required. We are no smoking establishment and do not accept pets.
Each cottage has its own facilities - TV DVD games books etc. Facilities shared by all guests include the garden garden chairs bbq equipment outdoor drying garden toys and games.

As members of the Green Tourism Scheme we were awarded a 'Silver' plaque in Jan 2010. We are totally committed to providing sustainable tourism. We have changed to low energy bulbs in most areas our 'white' goods are all A rated. We use all environmentally friendly cleaning products and recycle as much waste as possible. Rainwater is collected for watering plants washing cycles etc. Our complimentary shampoo etc is all eco-friendly and our complimentary beverages are all fair trade brands. Eggs from our fee range 'rescue' hens are available to our guests. The rainwater from our latest cottage runs to a large pond which has already attracted a couple of local mallards.

Mobility Description:
Our latest cottage 'The Stable' has been converted specially with disabled guests in mind.. There is a level access to both front and rear entrances and the wider doorways allow ease of movement for wheelchair users. The kitchen cupboards are removeable to provide wheelchair access to both kitchen sink & oven. One double bedroom has en-suite wet room fully equipped with all neccessary rails grabs and a shower seat. A hoist can be hired on request. The shower room and bedroom has a panic alarm to attract the attention of both family members and the owners. The Dairy is all ground floor accommodation. There is a small step to enter the property but we have a ramp for wheelchair access it also has a 'wet room' with shower seat. The courtyard is cobbled but there is a parking space directly outside the Dairy. The Shippon and the Granary are not suitable for wheelchair users as the bathrooms are on the first floor. Directions:
Leave M6 at junction 27. Take A5209 to Southport/Ormskirk. Stay on this road for approx 7 miles. At the T junction with A59 turn left towards Ormskirk. At 'Booths' roundabout take 2nd exit onto B5242. Carry straight on for 2 miles. After Heatons Bridge pub take first right into Drummersdale Lane then first right again into Merscar Lane. At the end of Merscar Lane turn right again into Martin Lane. Go straight along over the hump backed bridge and we are approx 300 metres on the right.;
