La Posada de Ventosilla is a 17th century Palace built by the first Duke of Lerma in order to provide lodging for King Phillip III when he was hunting in the area. The building has a surface area adding up to 1,000 m2 and has preserved its original external architecture and (herreriano) wrought iron style. La Posada is elegantly decorated with 17th century furniture, specially on the ground floor which includes some of the guest rooms, a cafeteria with TV, the main hall and a dining room complete with fireplace. The rest of the rooms and another small lounge are on the newly built second floor. The rooms on the ground floor are decorated with antique furniture while the rooms on the first floor are more modern.
