Lord Mayors Cottage is a 14th century thatch cottage with extensive grounds including a formal garden, a secret garden and a woodland garden which backs on to the river Lark where we have fishing rights and a punt for your use.The cottage was built for the Lord Mayors of London at the time, and he used the cottage as a half way stop off, from London to Norwich and it is said he had a mistress at the cottage to welcome him. Our rooms both have view of the garden and there is a seperate door for your own use to wonder around the grounds.Our Blue Room is a standerd double room with views of the terrice and pond ,with a vanity unit ,free wifi, flat screen tv, tea/coffee facilities,fresh flowers,towles,robes and 100% cotton sheets. The Green Room is a luxurious double with a king size bed,views of the formal garden,with a vanity unit, flat screen tv, wifi,tea/coffee facilities,towels,robes,and fresh flowers to greet you.The bathroom is a large family bathroom with shower,basin and wc.which is a shared facility.We have a formal dinning room where we serve a full english breakfast, however if you have any dietry needs we will do our up most to accomidate you.On arrival we offer you tea or coffee in the garden if weather permitting, or in the dinning room or you room. Free of charge.The facilities we offer as extra to be book in advance are, Bueaty treatments,fruit bowles, evening meals,chocolates, boquets and dinner partys.You can find us on the A11 between Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket, we are 1hour 15 from London via M11,A11 and 40 minuits to Norwhich. The village of Barton Mills has two Pubs one is a drinking Pub and the other has a restuarant and bar menu which are both very good about three minuits walking distance from us. There are lots of cycle paths in the village and surrounding areas.Mildenhall town has a market on a Friday and a supermarke, some small shops a good Chinese and Indian reasurants only 2miles away. We look forward to welcoming you to our home.
Our Bedrooms are in an 1980's extension of the old house with views of the gardens.We have only two rooms one is a standard double room with wifi,tv,tea/coffe,robes towles and 100%cottan sheets and the other is a luxurious double witha king be and all the facilities.
We have Bikes for hire, a family Punt to rent with/without a picinic hamper, Fishing for free on the river, BBQ for your use or we can provide one for you ,Bueaty treatments to be pre booked, DVD selection, Afternoon Tea.and evening meals . All to be pre booked.
