Wood burning stoves fuelled from our own woodland are carbon neutral and supports our central heating system. Much of our refuse is recycled or composted. Energy efficient light bulbs help reduce our electricity consumption and ecologically friendly laundry and cleaning products are kind to our environment. We support local food producers and use much of our own organic produce minimising food miles and ensuring the freshest and best quality products. The water at Polrode comes from our own sping. The cottage and gardens are set in an area of "Special Scientific Interest" along the river Allen. Our organic approach to gardening supports the wide range of flora and fauna to be found here.
