Built in 1725 as a Gentleman's Residence this grand house is set in two acres of formal gardens and Tidwell revels in large lawns with tall and ancient spreading trees. The mellow walls divide the garden into different moods. The main lawn is a beautiful setting for the house with huge trees offering a stunning backdrop for wedding photographs. The sun drenched patio area at the front bedecked with tables and chairs offers a delightful place to relax with a drink or book and at night is enhanced by flood lights as is the garden giving it an enchanting feel. With all the beautiful symmetry of a true Georgian house Tidwell offers light airy elegant reception rooms with a grand staircase from the central hall displaying the Coat of Arms of the Sentyclere family. The main Drawing room and adjoining panelled ante-rooms are where Breakfast is served. The dual aspect Sitting Room has large and comfy sofas within which one can enjoy a quiet read of the Sunday papers. Our en-suite rooms are all individually designed and furnished to meet our guests varying needs. The grand spacious double/twin rooms on the first floor overlooking the grounds and surrounding countryside are lovely for that short break away. The Four Poster suite for that special occasion and the smaller more intimate cosy double/twin bedded rooms (can be single occupancy) ideal for that overnight stay or attendance at a family/friends function are on the second floor.
