A public house has occupied this site since 1766 (it was formerly named 'The Goat') and the current owner in his tenth year of management. Whether on business or pleasure our bed and breakfast facilities provide visitors with clean and comfortable accommodation at affordable prices. All rooms are en-suite and offer colour television tea & coffee making facilities and choice of breakfast. The pub now presents a clean warm friendly and welcoming atmosphere open 7 days a week with ample car parking facilities. Our food is freshly prepared daily by the resident chef who takes great care to ensure that the quality of the food served is of the highest standard and that our menus are able to provide something for the most discerning palate. During the warmer months our Garden Terrace and large managed lawn provides the perfect setting for enjoying a light lunch or evening meal while the children play. With spacious grass areas and patio The Stag provides extensive outdoor facilities to cater for all needs. The area is famous for its cycle tracks and walks and therefore we often entertain groups of ramblers coach parties and cyclists who are always welcome to come and relax in comfort and of course try our range of quality ales and pub food.
