The Rose and Crown is a 16th Century coaching inn at the centre of the historic village of Nether Stowey. We are located on the A39 between Bridgwater and Minehead at the foot of the Quantock Hills England's first 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' In addition to our four comfortable en-suite guest bedrooms we have a cosy bar with log fire in the winter and free Wi-Fi. We serve 'Cask Marque' accredited real ales and proper Somerset cider. Our delicious home-made food is often served with vegetables from our own kitchen garden and can be enjoyed in our restaurant in the bar or in our beautiful walled beer garden. We have a separate games room with pool table dart board and big screen TV showing both Sky and BT Sports. There is a children's play area in the garden. Nether Stowey was once the home of the romantic poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge whose cottage (now a National Trust property) is just 100 metres away and is the start of the 'Coleridge Way' long distance path. The village itself is a a popular destination for walkers and mountain bikers who can explore the miles of trails over the Quantock Hills with stunning views over the Bristol Channel and South Wales. Bath Glastonbury Wells and Exmoor are all within easy driving distance.
