The Spring and Summer months are upon us and here at the centuries old Barleycorn Inn with rooms (extended in 1829) we are perfectly located for all sorts of relaxation and more energetic pursuits for your holiday or short break. Well under an hour's drive from the beautiful cathedral cities and attractions of Salisbury and Winchester our local market towns including Marlborough and Devizes are also well worth a visit with many independent shops and galleries. Hungerford is an excellent centre for antiques shops and features regularly on TV programmes or if a different sort of bargain-hunting is the order of the day you may like to try the Great Western Shopping outlet in Swindon. We are in the middle of the flat-racing world with both Newbury and Salisbury racecourses just a short drive. Walkers and cyclists will find numerous routes to take to and from the Barleycorn and the family dog is welcome to join you both in the pub and for overnight stays. Thruxton race track and motor sports centre is a few miles down the road and if more active mountain biking is your thing Tidworth Free-Ride is close by. Whatever your day's adventures afterwards there are our welcoming bar and Cwtch (Welsh for Cuddle) to restore the inner traveller with super pub food and a good selection of beers and wines to tempt you. Ness Andy Eliot and their team look forward to welcoming you soon and telling you all about what's available in this lovely part of the countryside! See our Menus & Events page for more information and follow us on Facebook.
We have 5 pleasantly furnished modern en-suite letting rooms providing our guests with a comfortable and peaceful stay.
