Eco Policy:
The Courtyard at Hodsock has seen the restoration of the old estate dairy and we considered green issues wherever practicable. The aim was to create 10 high quality B&B or self catering accommodation suites as well as a meeting and training room. The Courtyard was created by a team of local businesses ensuring the local community also benefited from the restoration programme. Everyconsideration was given to ensure the accommodation was sustainable and used eco-friendly energy. Solar panels were fitted to the roof and a ground source heating system was laid in the Victorian Walled Garden at the rear along with superior quality insulation double glazing and under floor heating. The building has high energy efficiency credentials; the majority of our heating and hot water comes from renewable sources. As much waste material as possible is recycled and our local housekeeping staff's cleaning materials and routines reflect the same eco-friendly approach.
