These eight studios and apartments have proven very popular and offer a good standard for Agia Efimia. They are located in the heart of the green Pylaros Valley, set back from the road a ten minute walk inland from the village.
The studios on the ground and first floor are twin-bedded and contain a fully equipped kitchen area, a tiled shower room, and a front terrace or balcony. The 1-bedroom apartment is on the ground floor and comprises a double bedroom, open-plan living room with kitchen area (full cooker) and one or two sofa-beds for children, a shower/wc and a front terrace overlooking the gardens.
The 2-bedroom apartment, also ground floor, possesses one double and one twin bedroom, a separate kitchen (full cooker), shower/wc and front garden terrace.
The four maisonettes are all on the first floor. They are open-plan on two floors and comprise a ground floor living room with kitchen area (mini-oven and rings), a twin/double sofa-bed for children, a shower room and a wide sunny front balcony. The spacious bedroom upstairs (no door) has a double or twin beds and its own private balcony, this time to the rear.
Furnishings and décor are cheerful and modern throughout and all units possess air-conditioning (included in the price). In the colourful gardens to the front is a good-sized freshwater pool (60 sq.m., depth 1.0m.-1.80m.) with furnished terrace surrounds.
With hills behind, the valley in front, and trees all around, Vivi enjoys fresh green surroundings and rural views. A torch would be recommended for late night returns along the road from Agia Efimia, which has a slight incline.

Further details
Agia Efimia has several supermarkets, two bakeries, a post office, a chemist, a cash point, numerous tavernas, bars and coffee bars. One can hire cars and mopeds and motorboats in the village and book tennis courts and scuba diving lessons.
The municipality of Pylaros, in which Agia Efimia is located, offers numerous enchanting walks both in the valley and the surrounding mountains with breathtaking views and wonderful varieties of flora and fauna.
Local villages, such as Makriotika and Drakapoulata, offer an insight into unspoilt Greek rural life and numerous buildings and sites of historical interest. We recommend a trip to Mount Enos, Kefalonias highest mountain, to enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Kefalonia and other Ionian Islands. Stop for some local wine-tasting at the village of Frangata. Follow the dramatic cliff and mountain road to Myrtos Beach, then wind down in the atmospheric little harbour of Assos. Take a boat trip from Sami across to nearby Ithaca or take the twice-daily boat trip from Fiscardo to explore Lefkas. Explore the fishing port of Fiskardo for its smart yachts and charming narrow streets of Venetian-style houses. Native to Kefalonia are some of the best beaches in Greece. Hire a small boat and spend the day visiting tiny isolated beaches and coves all along the pretty coastline. Drive along the main coastal road to Sami and stumble across small scattered beaches amongst the rocks.
Much of the busy nightlife in Kefalonia is concentrated in the main town of Argostoli. The central square is lined with many restaurants, cafes and bars.
In Kefalonia you will find an abundance of spectacular scenery, traditional tavernas, stunning white beaches and warm, friendly Greek hospitality and we can help bring you closer to the natural beauty, culture and vivid history of Kefalonia. Our contacts are all locally based people and therefore have a large amount of local knowledge. They are all professionally trained to the highest standards so you will feel safe and secure.
Many have close links with local charities helping to protect the Kefalonian environment and the rich cultural heritage, along with community groups and the church.
Some are also involved with the local sports councils which enhance the lives of local children, allowing them opportunities to compete in all sporting activities with other organisations throughout Greece and internationally.

Please support Responsible Tourism when visiting Agia Efimia and Pylaros
Responsible Tourism is about minimising the impact of tourism in relation to the environment, contributing to the local economy, respecting and understanding cultures, preserving heritage and supporting the views and needs of the local community. Here are a few tips:
Learn some Greek words; at least “please” and “thank you”.
Water is precious, take short showers, not baths. Report leaks and dripping taps.
Save power – turn off lights and air conditioning when you leave a room.
Ask for towels and linen to be changed less often. You will help save on laundry, associated costs, electric and water.
Buy locally produced food and drink, eat in locally-owned cafes and restaurants.
Buy locally-produced gifts and souvenirs. Don’t buy anything made from shells, turtle shell, coral, or any other wildlife – you’ll be contributing to their exploitation and it may be illegal to take home.
Use public transport, cycle or walk – this will keep you closer to the community and in touch with the places you visit.
Respect local customs and dress accordingly. Cover up when you are not on the beach; especially in towns, shops, restaurants and when visiting religious establishments.
Ask permission before taking photographs of people.
Dispose of litter carefully. Take pride and take your rubbish to a bin or back to your accommodation with you.
If you go fishing, don’t leave behind discarded tackle. Entanglement is one of the most common causes of seabird and other marine species’ fatalities.
When you are snorkelling, act sensitively, keep your impact to a minimum, and try not to touch. Do not remove artefacts or shells (this is prohibited anyway).
Don’t be impatient. The culture is much more relaxed than you may be used to.
