WESTON HOUSE is a beautiful Victorian house in the heart of the thriving village of Bampton the home of Catherine and Peter Stott. We offer light spacious and comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation throughout the year. There are two good sized double rooms with en-suite shower rooms and an exceptionally spacious room with either super kingsize double or twin beds and a private bathroom. Rooms are furnished in keeping with the character of this period house with original paintings on the walls. We welcome travellers with our comfortable beds (all have pocket sprung mattresses) a comprehensive hospitality tray (with fresh milk) and fresh flowers in the room. In the bathroom you will find large fluffy towels and luxurious Cole and Lewis toiletries. All rooms also have flat screen TV/radio/DVD player a free wi-fi service and comprehensive local and tourist information. In the morning there is a wide variety of breakfast options in the period Victorian dining room. Choose cereals fresh fruit juice and fresh fruit salad/compote in season followed by full English breakfast (including vegetarian) or smoked salmon with scrambled eggs. We buy eggs meat bread and preserves from local suppliers and make our own yogurt. Bampton lies close to the Exe valley and is a short drive from Exmoor as well as close to Dulverton Knighthayes Court Wimbleball Lake and long distance walking and cycling routes. There are traditional shops an historic church tearooms pubs and restaurants all within a few minutes walk. The whole area is fantastic for walking and cycling and fishing kayaking and other outdoor activitis are close at hand. We have drying facilities and secure cycle storage with early breakfasts (from 6:30am) to order as well as maps and walking guides to borrow. Catherine is a painter and mosaicist. Her home studio can be visited by arrangement and we also organise a programme of residential and day courses.

All our rooms are spacious. All beds have pocket sprung mattresses. The hospitality tray has biscuits tea coffee fresh milk and hot chocolate and fruit teas. Other caffeine free althernatives are available. The rooms have flat screen TV/radio/DVD player hairdryers and shaver adaptors and large mirrors. The house has central heating with individual room thermostats and extra heating pillows and blankets are available. Sheets and thin blankets can replace our duvets on request.

Free unlimited wifi is available in all rooms. We have secure storage available for cycles kayaks golf clubs fishing rods and similar gear. Additional room heating pillows and blankets are available on request. We also have available an iron and ironing board and desk fan. Each room has a dressing table and stool or chair which could also be used as a small desk.

We maximise our use of local shops and local suppliers to minimise transport of goods and to support other local businesses. We minimise the use of prepacked sachets of tea coffee sugar butter and preserves and toiletries to reduce the level of waste. We encourage walkers and cyclists and provide detailed bus and other public transport information.

Mobility Description:
Weston House is a period Victorian town house. The bedrooms are all on the first floor and there are 17 stairs from ground to first floor. The showers/bath have non-slip surfaces/mats and the bath has handrails to assist getting in and out. Cars can stop immediately outside to unload and the front door has a low threshold. We are happy to assist with luggage. Please contact us to discuss your particular requirements and we will do everything we can to help.

Dining Facilities:

• Breakfast at Weston House is served in our elegant Victorian dining room. The large period dining table comfortably accommodates 6 guests. Breakfast is served from 8am to 9am and can be served earlier or later by arrangement. The menu includes choice of cereals and fruit juice fruit salad or compote home made yoghurt full English breakfast with vegetarian equivalent cooked to order with locally sourced ingredients toast and home made preserves.

Directions:
Take the A361 North Devon link road towards Tiverton and Barnstaple. At the first roundabout (6 miles) turn right on the A396 to Bampton. At the first roundabout (5 miles; Exeter Inn) turn right. Follow the road into the village and along the main street. At the T junction turn left. Weston House is about 100m on the right. You can stop outside the door to unload luggage. Parking is in the village car park a further 50m on the left.;
