The property was formerly the Gatehouse to an impressive manor which sadly no longer exists. Close by are wonderful walks along the River Marden and Calne is easily accessible by motorway and many towns such as Devizes which has lots of gorgeous shops/markets to browse an afternoon away. Nearby is Marlborough a quick 20 minutes drive and again fabulous shops and tea houses. Guests are encouraged to use the garden (weather permitting of course!) and close by is a wonderful off licence with an impressive array of drinks and even chocolate. Should guests wish to dine there is a fabulous Indian Restaurant within walking distance and also pizza good old Fish and Chips and a Sainsburys supermarket for any ad hoc things required. Smoking is permitted only in the small conservatory as is the consumption of wine/beer! The beautifully beamed attic room with king size bed and en suite within the room enables guests to retire kick off their shoes and watch TV in a rocking chair! Having their own staircase is a complete bonus as you feel you are in your own space without the fear of intrusion. In the morning a full cooked English breakfast will be served in the dining area and will round off what will I hope have been an enjoyable stay. I look forward to meeting you soon. KITCH REID
