Linkshouse is an Edwardian house originally built in 1913 as a family home and later used as a Guest House where the gentry of Kirkwall and Stommness would visit for the summer holidays. The Guest House has recently been refurbished to a very high standard retaining many original features. Relax and unwind in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere overlooking the bay and village of Birsay. Many historical sites close by some within walking distance. The accommodation for guests consists of a very comfortable sitting room which has Laura Ashley furniture and there are maps and a little library and plenty of local infomation and TV AND DVD sherry is put out for guests to help themselves off the sitting room is a gazebo for guests which is most pleasant to sit in and guests enjoy relaxing in there maybe after a long day exploring etc. The dining room has an orginal Orkney slate floor and orginal built in dresser for the dining table I us linen cloth and napkins for breakfast I offer the traditional full breakfast also something for the fish lover a vegetarian choice and a continental breakfast. I source as many ingedients locally as possible. My policy is to offer guests what I would like to find myself. I consider the decoration and furnishings of a good standard and Art work on the walls are all orginal.

Our accommodation consists of 1 double and 1 twin en-suite room. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the rooms along with little extras that we hope will make your stay more memorable.

There is a guest sitting room and gazebo with TV books and lots of local information.
