Herne is an ideal centre to for trips to Canterbury City Whitstable famous for its Oysters heritage of Sandwich Roman fort of Reculver and seaside town of Herne Bay or a night stop over before crossing the Channel. Herne dates back several hundred years. The Parish celebrated 700 years in 2010. During the summer season our village has an amphitheatre. We have productions from music through classical to comedy and to suit the younger audience. Two Public Houses within an easy walking distance from The Limes. The Smugglers Inn serves locally brewed Shepherd Neame beers. The Butchers Arms reputedly the smallest Free House in England and winner of CAMRA 2008 Kent Pub of the Year serves the finest Real Ale. Further public houses close to Herne serve food. Many Restaurants in Herne Bay Whitstable and Canterbury cater for many tastes of around the world. We are 1 1/2 miles from the North East Kent Coast steeped in history with sites of Roman forts & Castles.

Leave the A299 at the A291junction Herne Bay Canterbury road. Take the A291 to Canterbury. You'll immediately enter Herne village. We are in the centre of the village immediately after a parking bay on your left we have a bay window to the front of our house. If you get to the mini roundabout you have missed us by 50 metres.;
