Val & Pete Grainger and family have lived at Ivy Cottage for 12 years. Pete is an ecologist and runs a countryside management business and is often on hand to show you something interesting in the way of insect life or flora. He is a mine of information on trees and woodland management and in the winter is often to be seen hedgelaying in the local area. Val has been farming most of her life and there is not much she dosen't know about sheep! Founder of the award winning local business The Woolly Shepherd she now is at your service running the smallholding and a home from home traditional B&B where real milk home made cakes and local produce will leave you reluctant to depart! Our animals all welcome your attention and its often possible to help feed pigs or collect eggs for your breakfast. Ivy Cottage is set in the lovely Blackdown Hills on the Devon/Somerset border. Home to Val & Pete Grainger it has 12 acres of grounds and has wonderful views across rolling farmland. We are easy to find and just 6 miles from both Wellington and Taunton and 20 minutes from M5 junctions 25 and 26. We have woodland walks and keep our own pigs chickens ducks and special minature Ouessant sheep. We grow most of our own fruit & veg and make juice and cider from our apple trees. Our woods are a haven for wildlife and are a special place where you can relax and unwind. We look forward to welcoming you!
