The Kings Arms is a recently refurbished traditional country inn situated in the beautiful West Dorset village of Portesham sitting on the Jurassic coastal road between Weymouth and West Bay and only 10 minutes from Dorchester and Bridport. We offer 3 well luxury en-suite rooms and can accommodate single double or family occupancy we are also able to cater for your four legged friends. Each room features luxury bed en-suite shower room with high level of fittings stylish bedrooms matching our surroundings along with smart TV docking station tea & coffee and free wifi. Our dining menu reflects our location of where the coast meets the country with our ingredients being sourced as locally as possible including local farms and growers and all dishes are cooked to order. You can couple this with a warm welcome relaxed table service and a range of selected wines and cask ales In the colder months warm up with one of our 3 open log fires and in the warmer months enjoy our wonderful garden complete with stream running through it. In the warmer months we also have our wood-fired pizza oven running in the garden. The Kings Arms is an historic pub in an historic village. Portesham was first mentioned in a charter dating back to 1024 when King Canute granted Porteshamme land to one of his ministers. Admiral Hardy as in Kiss Me Hardy of HMS Victory fame lived in Portesham House still standing opposite the pub. The Kings Arms itself has been a pub since at least 1900. Inside the Kings Arms which has recently been refurbished is traditional bar and dining area with three open fires creating a cosy welcoming atmosphere to relax and enjoy a drink and a meal. Food is served every day both at lunchtime and evenings.
Our accommodation at the Kings Arms Portesham is very adaptable. We have 3 rooms for you to choose from each overlooking the garden. We offer flexible accommodation including rooms for single double twin or a family room sleeping a maximum of 4. All our meals use fresh produce and are cooked to order. Monday to Friday the restaurant is open 12-3.00pm & 6.00-9pm serving 12-9pm on the weekends. We serve a selection of light bites sandwiches traditional favourites & bar snacks at lunchtimes and a full à la carte menu is available in the evening.
