Great holiday cottage at the beautiful fjord Malangen approx. 70 km south of the city of Tromsø. The cottage is comfortable and tastefully furnished and is located in the small village Skutvik on the eastern side of the fjord. Additional 2 children up to 12 years may be included but must stay on the mezzanine.
From the cottage and terrace there are magnificent views over the beautiful fjord landscape during all seasons. In winter you can enjoy panoramic views of the northern lights which on a clear day dances in all its colourful splendour across the polar sky. If you take a walk in the snow in the area you can enjoy the silence and the stars and the polar light in the sky. Afterwards, you can get warm in front of the wood-burning stove in the living room or in the sauna.
In the bright spring and summer nights, when the midnight sun bathes the landscape in its reddish tinge, is a great experience to stay in the area. Then you can sit on the terrace all night and enjoy the magnificent spectacle. The outdoor whirlpool provides comfort and relaxation during your stay. Approx.
200 m to the fjord where there is rich fishing. Rights across the fjord the salmon river Målselva has its outlet. In addition to the usual sea fish in the bay you can also catch salmon, trout and char. Rent a 19 foot self-draining Kværnø aluminium boat with control panel, 50 hp motor, sonar/chartplotter/GPS and 6 rod holders.
The boat is 7 km from the cottage. Boat is available from 1. june to 1. October.
Good parking at the cottage. Central vacuum in the cottage. Malangen Peninsula has beautiful scenery and offer pleasant walks. During the winter it is a great terrain for skiing.
Nice base for road trips to e.g. Tromsø, the largest city in Northern Norway that has many restaurants and shops. With its long history in fishing and hunting in the Arctic Ocean, the city is also called Ishavsbyen (polar ocean city). At Tromsdalen you can take the lift up the mountain where you can enjoy magnificent views over the city and the surrounding islands. The beautiful Målselvfossen further south, Norways national waterfall, is also worth seeing.
You should visit the zoo PolarZoo where polar and arctic animals can be experienced up close. Adventure island Senja in the west is also worth seeing with its magnificent landscape on the west side of the island. From Gryllefjord you can take the ferry to Andenes where a trip with a whale watching boat is an exciting experience for the whole family. Seeing the great whales up close is a memory for life.
