Nestled in the quaint Cumbrian village of Gosforth just 10 minutes’ drive from Seascale and the Blue Flag Beaches of the Cumbrian Coast, this family run, former coaching inn offers free Wi-Fi, free parking, a delightful restaurant and stunning views of Wast Water and Scafell Pike.
The kellbank was once a historic coaching and still retains many period features, including the mounting block at the front entrance, exposed stone fire places and open log fires. The charming exterior with cobbled pavement harks back to a bygone age and blends seamlessly with the modern extension to the rear of the building which houses the bedrooms and restaurant.
All 20 beautifully appointed en-suite rooms are located in a quiet area towards the rear of the hotel and provide a range of modern amenities including, free Wi-Fi, tea and coffee making facilities with freshly ground coffee and TVs with Freesat. The rooms on the ground floor offer views over the hotel gardens and provide easier access, whereas the first floor rooms afford views over the Wasdale Valley and one in particular you can see England’s highest peak the majestic Scafell Pike.Specialising in traditional English cuisineThe Kellbank restaurant offers a range of dishes, from hearty homemade pies and rich game casserole to spicy beef goulash and poached salmon, there is something for all tastes. No stay at The Kellbank would be complete without sampling the excellent breakfast, providing a range of cereals and a full English option there’s no better start to the day. Early risers have the option of a Grab & Go breakfast available from 5:30am and can simply be collected by guests each morning. The hotel bar provides a wide range of beers, lagers and spirits, as well as guest ales and speciality lager from Mitchell Krause Brewing. Bar snacks are also available each day for guests looking for a more informal dining option.
