Where Are We ? Uniquely positioned Bed & Breakfast in Castle Acre on the Peddars Way near Swaffham. Walkers on the Nar Valley Way will also find that Castle Acre is ideally placed to explore the wonders of rural Norfolk and is blessed with an excellent pub The Ostrich specialising in high quality meals Greene King ales and a wonderful atmosphere. The village also has two tea shops; a licensed convenience store and a post office. Within walking distance is The Stag in West Acre which has an excellent reputation for serving a variety of real ales (also on the Nar Valley Way). Other attractions include the wondrous North Norfolk coast nearby Sandringham and the winter delights of the Thursford Christmas Spectacular. Who Are We ? Marcon House was built in 1884 for the village doctor and we have lived here for over 20 years and have been in Castle Acre since 1983. It is a five bedroomed property and now that our children have fled the nest we can offer an en-suite bed and breakfast (B & B) service and Peddars Way accommodation. What Do We Offer ? We have two rooms. Room 1 is en-suite ground floor accommodation (private entrance) with the option of a single twin or double bed with Egyptian cotton sheets; Welcome Tray; sofa for watching the Freesat HD TV; complimentary WiFi; an en-suite shower room with luxurious towels and Molton Brown toiletries; sumptuous breakfast options include our own free range eggs (when the chickens are laying) and locally-sourced bacon and sausages. Room 2 is a first floor double bedroom with private bathroom; Welcome Tray armchair for watching Freeview HD TV free WiFi and the same breakfast options. On arrival we will supply fresh cold milk for that all important cuppa and we are happy to store bikes and transport luggage and bags both to and from our B&B.

Castle Acre is four miles outside Swaffham just off the A1065 and is ideally situated to strike out to Norwich Kings Lynn Thursford and the North Norfolk coast. Cambridge and Peterborough are both within about an hour's drive. You will find us at the top of Bailey Street in Castle Acre (the house name is Marcon House) 100 yards before the striking Baileygate and just after the Red Lion hostel.;
