DIRECTIONS to Six Castlegate by road • From M6 junction 40 at Penrith: A66 West following signs for Western Lake District and Cockermouth by-passing Keswick after 13 miles. Continue on A66 along the shores of Bassenthwaite and after 12 miles take 4th exit at the Shepherds Hotel / Mitchell’s Auction roundabout onto A5086 signed Cockermouth Less than a mile turn left at traffic lights down to mini roundabout on Main Street (Wordsworth House directly in front) and turn right heading north up;
