At the Agent's House we provide B&B with a twist - each of our Annexe suites has its own private entrance and prior to your stay we send you a selection of cook and non-cook breakfast options. On arrival you will find the fridge stocked with the necessary ingredients (locally sourced wherever possible) to prepare breakfast in your room. No set time slots or having to be sociable first thing if you don't feel like it just relax and enjoy! A stone's throw from the River Wye and in the border lands between Herefordshire in the English West Midlands & Powys in Mid-Wales we are ideally situated as a touring base for getting to know the picturesque Wye Valley (AONB) and beyond. Despite our rural location we are very fortunate to have a pub a village store and a pop-up Nepalese/Thai take-away outlet all within a few minutes' walk from our front door. We are less than 5 miles from Hay on Wye the famous bookshop capital where you will find a variety of small individual shops many eateries & cafes and a Thursday morning market to name but a few of its attractions. The Hay literary festival is attended by tens of thousands of visitors at the end of May/beginning of June so if you intend to visit during this period please book early to avoid disappointment! The cathedral city of Hereford with its renowned chain library and mappa mundi is approximately 15 miles east of Whitney on Wye and the surrounding area has a number of National Trust properties cider farms a black and white village trail and much more. For the energetic there is a wide range of activities available within easy reach including a canoe/kayak stop-off point just minutes from the house. This is great walking country with routes along Offa's Dyke the Herefordshire Trail & Wye Valley walk within striking distance as well as local trails direct from the house. Hay Bluff the Black Mountains & Brecon Beacons National Park are also just a short drive away.
We offer stylish self-catering suites in two annexes adjoining the main house with the following key features: can be let together or separately open all year round rural location for that "get away from it all" feeling. You have your own front door to come/go as you please character & charm with modern en-suIte facilities. We are happy to freshen your room daily but a full maid service is not provided. Alternatively you may prefer us to leave you alone just let us know.
Both rooms have private entrances and are equipped with a range of facilities to help ensure your comfort and convenience. These include high quality hypo allergenic bedding soft fluffy towels quality toiletries hair dryer iron/ironing board flat screen TV/DVD player torch thermos flask umbrella and hot water bottle. The Agent's House aims to recycle as much as possible and encourages guests to do likewise by providing collection facilities in the room that are emptied daily. In addition we aim to reduce waste and our impact on the environment by stocking the rooms with breakfast ingredients chosen to order by our guests and sourced locally wherever possible. Use of cleaning chemicals is kept to a minimum through usage of eco and allergy-friendly products. Towels and bed linens are not changed daily.

There are cooking facilities in each room so you can prepare breakfast at your leisure giving you the freedom & independence to eat when you want to. So if you're having a romantic weekend away you can eat as late as you like (subject to checkout restrictions); or if you have a full day planned & want an early start there is no need to wait for breakfast service. Immediately on passing the village gates on the entry to Whitney on Wye take the left turn immediately prior to a petrol station.
