Marra was a cute big blue scared dolphin who came to Maryport. Marra the dolphin started living in Maryport Harbour and refused to leave. One person had spotted the dolphin and then more people came to see it. People tried to rescue Marra so he could go back into the sea. All the people of Maryport came together to help. People named him 'Marra' because it is a Maryport dialect word for friend. Marra swam off into the Sunset after he was evicted from the Marina he has been stubbornly refusing to leave. Moments after being released into the Irish sea Marra was frolicking with a second dolphin before bidding goodbye to Maryport.

By Car - Take the M55 Motorway into Blackpool and follow signs to the Promenade. Drive along the Promenade towards Central Pier [you can't miss the big Ferris wheel on Central Pier] and York Street is right opposite the Pier. As the first part of York Street is pedestrian only you need to turn on either Yorkshire Street or Chapel Street from the Promenade and then turn onto York Street.
