Okonjima Lodge is The Home of The AfriCat Foundation - A non-profit organisation committed to long term conservation of Namibia's large carnivores. Over 850 big cats have been rescued in 13 years and 86% have been released back into the wild. Guests can see cheetah, leopard and lions and some of the carnivores researched and rehabilitated by this foundation. Okonjima Lodge is halfway between Windhoek and the Etosha National Park (B1). Activities include: tracking rehabilitated cheetah on foot, tracking leopard from our game-viewing vehicles, The Cheetah Project which offers you valuable insight into the welfare work of The AfriCat Foundation and follow in the footsteps of an ancient people on the guided Bushman Trail.
Identify some of the more than 250 bird species in the area, including Namibian endemics. At the nocturnal hide you may view after-dinner nightlife such porcupine, honey badgers and caracal amongst others. Self guided-walking trails up to 8 km are also on the menu. Okonjima Lodge hosts: the exclusive Omobroko Campsite, the comfortable Main Camp, the luxury Bush Camp, the select private Bush Suite and the Grand African house - The Villa.
