We don't have hot tubs or jacuzzi's but we do have affordable traditional guest rooms all with ensuite faciltites at lower affordable realistic prices for this area. A traditional bed and breakfast Ideally situated within easy walking distance of the villages of Windermere and Bowness on Windermere with ferry access to Ambleside and Lakes end. The area is a true walkers dream. Walks ranging from ambling strolls to longer scenic fell walks commence on our doorstep. Local attractions nearby include World of Beatrix Potter Steam boat museum and Wordsworth Rydal Mount and Dove Cottage at nearby Grasmere. Crompton House Bed and Breakfast Guest House is a strictly Non-Smoking Guest House retaining lots of Victorian character. The warm friendly atmosphere creates a relaxed and homely feel. Once checked in come and go as you please we don't have time restrictions. Windermere and Bowness on Windermere also offer a fantastic selection of restaurants and bars to suite all palates and purses. There is free parking available on site and plenty of free parking in the surrounding area. Free Internet access is available We have a computer in our reception that can be used free of charge to check emails. Check in times are from 14.00hrs until 20.00hrs if arrival outside of these times must be by prior arrangement we will be happy to try and accommodate guests requests however their will be a charge for late check in. Breakfast times are monday to saturday 8.30am to 9.15am sunday slightly later from 9.00am until 9.30am. ****WE are SORRY we NO longer accept CHILDREN UNDER 18 year of age.*** All in all Windermere provides an ideal short break but dont just take our word for it; come and see for yourself.
Rooms consist mainly of doubles one family/twin multi use room a four poster bedroom! one super king sized bed. All of the bedrooms have an en suite shower room. Rooms are complete with tea and coffee making facilities TV hairdryer thermostatically controlled central heating and complimentary toiletries some rooms have flat screen tv's and dvd players. Sorry no children under the age of 18 years old. Children must have an adult present in our rooms.
Crompton House is a non smoking establishment and is pleased to offer guests full use of wifi internet . We have a dining area where guests can enjoy home cooked breakfasts and ample free parking off site 5 parking places on site plenty free parking in surrounding area.

Eco Policy:
We do not allow smoking in any part of the guest house. Guests that disregard this policy and smoke or leave rooms with smoke odour in them will be charged for the extra cleaning of that room there is no upper limit to this charge this policy is simply to stop people smoking in our guesthouse. We also do not allow takeaway foods to be brought into any part of the guesthouse. Guests who disregard this policy will also be charged for the extra cleaning of the room. We have had a huge amunt of damage with people bringing in takeaways resulting in carpets being cleaned bedding being ruined which will have to be paid for by the guest who made the booking. again there is no upper limit to this charge.

We have a hard surface car park the entrance is via two steps into the porch then two steps into the hall. The breakfast room is down a full flight of stairs.

- Guests can enjoy breakfast in our pleasant dining room where we serve a full grilled English breakfast with a good choice of cereals fruit and juice from our buffet table including fresh iced water. We use fresh produce of quality and we are only too happy to cater for all diets with prior notice. We only use the freshest ingredients for our breakfast and every breakfast is cooked to order so please allow a little extra time on a busy morning. No takeaway foods in the rooms please.

Directions:
Travelling from the north leave the M6 at Shap Junction 38 and follow the signs for Kendal and then Windermere. Travelling from the south leave the M6 at South Lakes Junction 36 and follow the signs for Windermere. Upon reaching Windermere follow the main road to Bowness and the Lake. We are approximately 100 yards past the clock monument and the modern built church on the left hand side of the road.;
