Woodford House is in a small hamlet in a beautiful valley amongst the Brendon Hills. Our lovely Victorian house is just within the borders of the Exmoor National Park with all its wonderful countryside and history. We (Anna and Michael) welcome guests to this glorious part of South West England and offer a friendly and comfortable place to stay whether for business or pleasure for one night or for a longer holiday. Woodford House is a Victorian building originally part of the nearby Nettlecombe Court Estate. We offer a wide variety of breakfasts from the full traditional English Breakfast to special Woodford is in a really lovely part of West Somerset and an excellent base from which to explore. Whichever way you choose to travel to Woodford House you will go through some of the South West's most beautiful countryside There is so much to see and do in the area. Our main asset is of course Exmoor National Park which is on our doorstep whether you like to walk cycle ride or drive its beauty in all seasons is unforgettable. Apart from the moorlands Wimbleball Lake and Clatworthy Reservoir are within very easy reach for walking fishing or water sports The nearest coastal town is Watchet with a pretty harbour museum and a wonderful bronze statue of Coleridge's Ancient Mariner and albatross. In less than 15 minutes you can be on Kilve Beach - a great place to see fossils. For steam enthusiasts we are close to the West Somerset Railway the longest heritage railway in England with Williton and Washford (home of the Somerset and Dorset Railway Museum) stations within 2 miles of us

Mobility Description:
Woodford House does not have a lift stairlift or rooms on the ground floor. From the parking area the path is almost level to the front door. The entrance hall has a flagstoned floor. Access to the rooms is via the staircase which has a handrail. There are 10 steps 4 turning steps and 4 further steps to the first floor landing. All steps are 175mm high.
