Little Mead offers seclusion peace and a glorious setting. It has its own lovingly created garden. It is situated just 3.5 miles from the ancient Cathedral City of Winchester and is easily accessible by Air (from Southampton Heathrow and Gatwick) Road (via the M3 M27 and A34) Rail (Winchester Station is 3.5 miles away and offers good train services to London the South West and North). There is an hourly bus service on weekdays ( but not on Bank Holidays) until the early evening. Little Mead welcomes holiday makers and business people alike. For the former it is an excellent centre for walking cycling and for fishing trips and it is within easy travel distance of Stonehenge Jane Austin's house at Chawton Gilbert White's House at Selbourne the Alresford steam railway the New Forest the Historic Naval museums at Portsmouth and of course Winchester itself. It offers a good base for those having business at Sparsholt Agricultural College (0.5 miles) IBM Hursley NTL Aqiva in Crawley the Law Courts and Police HQ in Winchester and the army bases at Worthy Down and the Sir John Moore Training Regiment HQ. Families are particularly welcome as are guests attending weddings at the village church and Lainston House Hotel. All three rooms have their own bathroom facilities Wi-fi Broadband connections Flat screen TV and tea and Coffee making facilities. The earliest check in time is 4pm and the latest check in time is 9pm. Check out time is 11.00 am The owners have two very friendly dogs; a Labrador and a miniature Jack Russel. They will ensure that these dogs are kept out of site of those guests who may find that this is a problem.
Little Mead has two double rooms and one twin room all at first floor level. Rooms are South facing and one room also faces to the East. One twin room and the double room have en-suite facilities while the other double room has its own private bathroom. This room can be converted to a twin room on request at booking. Leave Winchester on the Stockbridge Road Leave the Waitrose store in Weeke on your right. About 1 mile after leaving the 40mph zone turn left into Woodman Lane signposted Sparsholt. After about 1 mile and shortly after passing the Plough Inn on your right turn right by a small grass island and immediately turn left into Home Lane. Little Mead is about 200 metres up the lane on the left opposite a thatched cottage.;
