Located in the Azores, on the north coast of the island of São Miguel, Pico do Refúgio is a mansion that dates the beginning of the XVII century. During the past three hundred years served it many different purposes, among these, fortress for militias, artist residence, orange tree plantations and tea factory. Now the doors open to Pico do Refúgio – Country Houses a place where the harmony between Nature, Art, History and the Ocean can be enjoyed. Just a 15 min away from Ponta Delgada's airport, the property is located at a comfortable central position in the island, making easy access to shops, public services and many of the tourist attractions.

Only 6km away you have Batalha golf course or Santa Barbara beach, venue for the Azores Pro WQS. Pico do Refugio's lodgings are eight T1 houses (1 bedroom), spread around two diferent areas of the farm. These are either "Lofts" or "Apartments". The Lofts are larger open spaces, with a high ceiling, and can take up to two extra beds. The Apartments are smaller houses that can take only one extra bed.

All our houses have bathroom, kitchen and cable TV. What was formerly a tea factory, you can now find the Loundge as well as 3 lofts and 3 apartments. About 800 meters away, on the top of the hill (pico), near the main mansion, there are another two lofts. In the lounge we offer the following facilities: TV, books and magazines, phone, fax, photocopy, free wireless internet. In all our spaces, including the houses, we have art work, mainly photography, part of which is for sale.
