Welcome to Cloon River BandB located on the foothills of the Partry Mountains and on the banks of the River Cloon. The purpose built house is surrounded by 72 acres of ecological rich lands which includes fertile bogs mature woodlands and lush meadows. While this rural setting is unspoiled it is strategically located with many of Mayos natural historic and cultural locations in close proximity. The Guest sittingroom is large and spacious allowing our guests to enjoy the plasma TV or spectacular views whilst availing of complimentary beverages. Outdoor covered porches allows for relaxation whilst enjoying unspoilt scenary. All rooms are ensuite (wet room). Wifi is available in all rooms. Our large dining room creates an ambiance conducive to enjoying our home cooked food. Set in the heart of the lake district Loughs Mask and Carra it is a centre of excellence for anglers of all persuasions. Peace and tranquility become hand in hand while trolling down the Cloon river and entering the panoramic view that is Lough Mask. Ghillies and fishing knowledge always on hand. Ballintubber is a mere 10 Km from Cloon River. This is the home of the Abbey which dates from the 13th century and is the oldest Church which has been in continuous use in Ireland. The Great Western Greenway is a 42km off-road cycling and walking trail. It follows the route of the famous Westport to Achill railway which closed in 1937 and is the longest off-road walking and cycling trail in Ireland. The route offers magnificent views of Croagh Patrick the Nephin Mountains Clew Bay and its many islands.
