The River Club is a charming oasis on the Zambezi River, situated 18 kilometres upstream from the renowned Victoria Falls - a World Heritage Site and one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World.
Privately owned, the lodge is soaked in ambiance and history. The restored 1940s homestead has a comfortable lounge, dining room, library and veranda where breakfasts and teas are enjoyed. Midday meals are often served in the lush gardens spread out beneath the trees.
The River Club offers a fantastic destination for families with children 6 and up, providing spacious family accommodation and extensive gardens to explore. The pool seems part of the river itself, while a secluded deck with hammocks and loungers provide respite. Activities include sundowner cruises, visits to the Victoria Falls, Simonga Village, local markets and Livingstone town. Although The River Club is not a traditional safari camp, elephants can often be seen in the Zambezi National Park opposite and hippo are regularly seen and heard in the river itself.
A treatment room offers manicures, pedicures, facials and massages as well as a sauna, Jacuzzi and mini gym with electronic exercise equipment.
Each of the 11 spacious and privately situated suites overlooks the river and pods of hippo into the Zambezi National Park. Comprising luxurious bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms, most suites are split-level and each looks west into glorious African sunset, best viewed from the privacy of a ball and claw bath.
