ITINERARY
Day 1
Arrival - Nairobi
Upon arrival into Nairobi, as part of your holiday package you will be met by one of our reprensentatives to transfer you to Eka Hotel where you will spend the afternoon at your leisure.
Overnight at the Eka Hotel in a Superior room on a bed and breakfast basis. (Check in time is from 1400hrs)
Eka Hotel is ideally located along Mombasa road in Nairobi the capital city of Kenya. Close to the International and domestic Airports as well as the city centre. The hotel offers tastefully decorated rooms, two restaurants, bar, conference facilities, swimming pool and a host of other facilities.
Day 2
Nairobi - Amboseli
Following breakfast, meet your fellow companions that arrive from Masai Mara and Naivasha, and depart south east towards Amboseli arriving for a late lunch.
In the afternoon depart on an afternoon gamedrive returning as the sun sets
After check-in youll have an opportunity to relax at the hotel then in the afternoon embark on a safari at the Minneriya National Park by Jeep.
Minneriya National Park is spread over a vast 8,889 hectares. Elephants abound and can be spotted at very close range. About 160 species of birds, 09 amphibians, 25 reptile species, 26 fish species and more have been sighted in this area.
Overnight at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge on a full board basis.
Amboseli Serena Safari Losge is set against the magnificent backdrop of Africas highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge enjoys a uniquely privileged position at the heart of this world-famous national park.
Secluded within a grove of acacia trees, the lodge looks out over the golden savannah plains, with uninterrupted views of the mountain itself. As the only sources of water in the park, this attracts huge numbers of wallowing elephants, hippos, buffalos and plains game. Whilst also home to the Observation Hill, where you can catch sight of the sunset over Kilimanjaro, a truly magnificent view.
At the centre of ‘Maasailand, the lodges décor reflects these legendary warriors. At the heart of the lodge, is a free form swimming pool shaded by palm trees. Rooms are housed in a single storey building opening directly on to the grounds, each reflecting a Masai manyatta theme, each with its own hand-painted wall frescos.
The central dining area is reached by a timbered bridge over a stream, while the lounge and bar feature a broad terrace and a blazing fire-pit where evenings can be spent. Optional activities include daily game drives in custom-built traditional safari vehicles, ‘sundowners on Observation Hill, bush breakfasts, bush dinners, Masai dance performances, visits to Masai villages and tree-planting programmes.
Day 3
Amboseli National Park – Tsavo West National Park
Following an early breakfast, depart to Tsavo West. The journey takes you east, across the spectacular Shetani lava flow, a reminder of the molten outpouring that spilled down the scenic slopes of the nearby Chyulu Hills over the last three centuries.
Youll then make way into Tsavo National Park, which together (East and West) form the largest of Kenya’s parks.
Following lunch, depart on an afternoon gamedrive including a visit to Mzima Springs with its underwater viewing holes.
Return to your lodge to catch sight of the sun set.
Overnight at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge on a full board basis.
Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge; One of the first lodges to be built in a national park, its superbly situated in the lee of Mount Kilimanjaro and sheltered by the volcanic splendour of the Chyulu Hills. This classic stone-built lodge overlooks its own water hole, which is visited daily by elephants, buffalos and a wide variety of plains game.
This lodge is tranquil and hushed for optimum game-viewing, it is also ideally placed for visits to all the parks prime attractions.
All the spacious en-suite rooms have their own verandas, with view of the waterhole or the Chyulu Hills, which are one of the worlds youngest volcanic ranges. With numerous activities on sight including game drives, guided walks, bush breakfasts, volcano climbs and trips to Mzima Springs which a set of crystal-clear ponds, fed by the melt waters of Mount Kilimanjaro, where hippos can be viewed from a submerged chamber
Day 4
Tsavo West National Park – Taita Hills Sanctuary
Following early breakfast, and a gamedrive enroute to the gate, continue to Taita Hills Sanctuary arriving for lunch at Taita Hills Safari Resort.
After lunch, transfer to Saltlick Lodge for a short siesta, and then depart on an afternoon gamedrive. Youll arrive back to the lodge to spend the evening at leisure, viewing game from lodge’s underground hide or from the lodge balcony.
Overnight at Salt Lick Safari Lodge in Parkview room on full board basis
Salt Lick Safari Lodge is in the heart of a private Wildlife Sanctuary which lies adjacent to Tsavo National Park,playing an important role in the protection and conservation of Kenyas wildlife heritage. The entire lodge is raised on stilts, providing 24-hour game viewing opportunities from any corner of the lodge. The rooms are built in two-story blocks from a central pod and linked together by elevated platforms. Each room is spacious and beautifully appointed, featuring exquisite ethnic décor in keeping with the Tsavo environment. Rooms have all the necessary modern conveniences. The restaurant, bar and main balconies have views over the water hole and salt lick. There is also an underground hide for closer encounters.
Day 5
Taita Hills – Mombasa - Nairobi (JKI Airport)
Early breakfast is served today before continuing your journey to Mombasa Moi Airport with picnic lunch, for a Schedule flight to Nairobi JKI International Airport for your departure journey.
Arrival Information
Earliest check-in at the arrival hotel is 14h00. Travellers arriving on early morning flights are urged to book a pre-night at the arrival hotel (at an additional cost) to avoid delays in accessing the hotel rooms on arrival.
Departure Information
This safari arrives Mombasa between 1330 – 1430 hrs
IMPORTANT Luggage Information
Travellers should only bring soft sided bags on safari. Luggage space in safari vehicles is limited. These bags should measure no more than the following: Height 66 centimetres Length 42 centimetres Width 28 centimetres. Soft sided bags with wheels are permitted.
Information about Internal Flights
Once services are confirmed, ARP Africa Travel will secure any internal flights included in the safari.
