Welcome to Britten House This magnificent Grade II listed Victorian town house is the birthplace of composer Benjamin Britten and his family home for 21 years. We are situated in a prime location overlooking Lowestoft's award winning Blue Flag Beach with uninterrupted sea views from selected rooms. Britten house has been fully renovated by the present owners to an extremely high standard complementing the original Victorian features such as the fireplaces stained glass windows and doors that define this lovely buildings rich heritage. The furnishings throughout the house combine quality and comfort while our lovely large and spacious high ceilinged rooms all have en-suite. We also provide fluffy towels complementary toiletries tea coffee filtered water and biscuits to enhance you stay. Breakfast is served in our lovely dinning room overlooking the sea. Choose from our menu of locally sourced produce (where possible) and we will cook your breakfast to your requirements. Nothing is too much trouble. We also provide a selection of fresh fruit cereals and juices served buffet style for your convenience. Our entrance door is accessible 24 hours a day. Guests may come and go at any time once they have the door code. This is also suitable for guests who may arrive after the 11pm manned entry time. Buckets and spades with a wind break are provided for guest who wish to take advantage of our lovely sandy beach. We also have a mobility walker which we are happy for guests to borrow. Guests staying for extended periods may borrow a microwave oven and we are happy to offer a free laundry service.

Mobility Description:
The entrance to Britten House is on a level path. There are no steps. The door to the entrance porch has a lip. The tiled entrance hall is wide and flat and the dining room is also on this level. The ground floor accommodation corridor has one step which is about 6 inches high. Wheel chairs can be left in the entrance hall way. The ground floor rooms are suitable for guests with limited mobility but not for someone who is wheel chair bound. The en-suite shower rooms on the ground floor are spacious and contain seats. A shower seat can be provided if required.

- Breakfast at Britten House is not to be missed. A delicious fresh fruit salad or grapefuite or even a banana? your choice. Cereals and fruit juice an array of teas or coffee. Then your choice of cooked breakfast order what you would like and cooked the way you like it. Good old fashioned thick rashers of bacon real chipolata sausages. Locally sourced and delicious.
