The Anchor is situated in an acre of grounds on the Suffolk Coast in Walberswick. We have four bedrooms in the 1920 s main building with a further six garden chalets just 400 yards from the sea. Our comfortable bedrooms come in a variety of sizes some with sea views and others with views of the beach huts and dunes or the garden. All rooms are en-suite including bath and/or shower satellite TV and free Wi-Fi. Walberswick is a picturesque village with a traditional feel. Amongst other things it boasts a nationally recognised array of walking/cycling paths in addition to the wonderful award winning beach and harbour. The Anchor has an enviable seascape the back terrace and garden overlook the village allotments black beach huts dunes and out to sea. There are wonderful walks to Southwold and Dunwich and acres of stunning marshes and heath land to explore. /p The use of fresh top quality and where possible locally sourced produce combined with a thirst for excellence has evolved into what has been described as a must go to place on the Suffolk coast . The approach to food is robust The Anchor wants to put on each plate satisfying combinations of flavours and textures. There is a good range of characterful draught beers numerous worlds class bottled beers organic soft drinks and over 150 drop dead lovely wines from some of the earth s most inspired winemakers. The flint barn at the side of The Anchor is equipped with a drop-down screen a projector for business meetings and presentations. It has been put to good use in the cause of village based charity fund-raising projects as well as cask beer festivals and art exhibitions.
