Penn Peel Cottage is also an English Retreat being a delightful cottage dating back to 1860 full of character on a country lane on the outskirts of the rural village of Bomere Heath. This is a village gone back in time located 4 miles north of Shrewsbury the county town of Shropshire where you can browse boutique and independent shops. The accommodation is full of character including beams and log burner in the cosy lounge. There are a choice of breakfasts from locally sourced produce including homemade jams free range eggs bacon and sausages from the prestigious Battlefield 1403 Farmshop served on fine china in our dining conservatory. There are two luxurious ground floor bedrooms with their own entrances and outside seating furnished in a country cottage style both with en-suites including one with wet room. The rooms are light and have vaulted ceilings comfortable beds quality duvets/pillows soft towels dressing gowns/slippers luxury toiletries. Within walking distance there is a friendly public house (Red Lion) with live music nights village shop post office fish and chip takeaway hairdressers with beauty salon village hall (open to non-members) tennis court cricket ground and childrens play area. Fishing can be undertaken at Merrington Green the River Severn or one of the meres in Ellesmere. For the cyclists we are a perfect stop off for the Lands End to John O'Groats route with our laundry and wash down facilities. With views towards Pim Hill which rises to 163m and covered in Rhodendrums in early summer Bomere Heath is easily accessible to Shrewsbury Ellesmere Oswestry Chester North Wales Ironbridge Gorge Church Stretton Bridgnorth and Ludlow. Use of an iron ironing board adjustable shower stool for use in the wet room travel cot and high chair are available on request. A microwave is provided for use in the evening for take away meals and a silent fridge to keep your drinks or food purchases cool too.
