Our famous Inn was built 5 years before the Iron Bridge was completed. 90% of all duties are carried out by the Poulton family (Bill Hazel Steve and Michelle) so as you can see we really are a family run Inn. We run our Inn how an Inn should be run in a historical village. NO DISCO'S NO KARAOKE NO LATE NIGHT MUSIC LICENSE AND NO LATE NIGHT DRINKING FOR NON-RESIDENTS as many of the other accommodation pubs in our village do have these facilites. So if you stay with us according to our visitors comments book you will get excellent food a good night sleep in our superb rooms so you will be bright eyed and bushy tailed to visit our wonderful museums. Step back in time and walk on the first Iron Bridge to be built in the world to span a river. (The River Severn) which is the longest river in Great Britain. The source of the River Severn is Plynlimon Wales and discharges into the Bristol Channel. We have an excellent menu with a choice of 20 starters 30 main courses from steaks lamb pork gammon chicken mix grills steak and ale pie and many different currrys 5 fish dishes full vegetarian menu and sunday roasts finally but not least step back in time for our spotted dick treacle and jam sponges. We also offer an excellent HALF BOARD option (Bed Breakfast and evening meal) at a set price. Your evening menu has a choice of over 12 starters 30 main courses and 12 desserts. This offer is the most popular with our guests as over 75% of our bookings are for half board also depending on the time of year you can get your 3rd night free! all our accommodation rooms are equipped with en-suite facilities full sized TVs radio and alarm clocks also tea and coffee facilites plus room controlled radiators. most of the beds have memory foam matresses. all our rooms are cleaned by the poulton family only so you have no need to worry about your possesions.
Our 'Titanic' style resident's bar is stocked with draught and bottled beers and a wide range of quality wines spirits and liqueurs. A full a la carte English breakfast is served with a wide choice of menus including vegetarian options.
