Gasthof Waldcafe in Mayrhofen in Zillertal is probably the most dynamic and best known valley in Tyrol. The charming Gasthof Waldcafe originally began life back in the 1920's as a popular mountain resort eating place and over the years has built up a reputation for serving delicious local cuisine. A few years ago it was decided to add some new rooms to the cafe and so then was created the Gasthof Waldcafe. The accommodation is simple and offers some stunning views of the surrounding mountain scenery. The resort of Mayrhofen is a true delight and what's even better is that there is a public outdoor/indoor pool, tennis courts plus an ice-rink virtually next door to this guesthouse. The food here is delicious, as one would expect from the history of the accommodation and the half board evening meal is three courses with a choice of main courses. This would be the perfect option for groups of friends as there are only a small number of rooms here so it would feel very much like you were having your own private house party.
