FONDA SAURAT, in the town of Espot (Lleida) is one of the oldest hotels in the Catalan Pyrenees. This is not only known through the memory of older people. Fortunately, there is a guidebook explaining a tourist trip around the Pyrenees written in London by the journalist and publicist ROBIN FEDDEN. In his story about his visit to Sant Maurici Lake in 1885 , Fedden declared he spent three nights at FONDA SAURAT of ESPOT, owned by JOSÉ SAURAT CAMPI, who combined his work at the guesthouse with farming.
