Javascript UX Developer

Travel Republic is looking for exceptionally talented, dynamic, energetic and creative front end developers to join our team in Kingston upon Thames.

Essential skills include detailed knowledge of JavaScript MVC frameworks such as backbone, knockout.js or angular. Ideally you would be comfortable working with a Microsoft (.NET) environment, in an Agile (Scrum or Kanban) developement team. Experience developing mobile web sites and applications will be an advantage, as well as working on single page apps.

Who are we looking for?

You must be passionate about software development and have a key eye for detail and design. We’re not looking for a web designer or Photoshop guru, but you need to be able to develop fantastic looking web applications and know when a font pitch is too small or a gutter is too big.

You will also need to be a techie and a “hands on developer” with drive, determination, and the passion to get totally involved in the business. You’ll be working with the main .NET development team and focused on the presentation layer of our code stack. You’ll be expected to be able to develop the code to support your front end work, and develop to a very high standard.

AB testing and measurement is used extensively at Travel Republic so you’ll get the chance to see exactly how effective your front end development work is and learn from real world evaluation. We encourage a collaborative working environment so excellent verbal communication skills are key.

For this position we are considering candidates who have at least 3 years post graduate commercial experience. If you have experience of developing for an online high volume public facing website it will be a real advantage. Whilst we use open source frameworks, we are a Microsoft house you will need to be an expert on the Microsoft development tools.

Key Skills needed

  1. Minimum 3 years commercial UX experience.

  3. Proven ability to develop great looking web applications.
  4. Any experience developing mobile web sites will be an advantage.
