Unique & quintessentially English Much Wenlock is a stunning medieval town. It played a part in the birth of the modern Olympic Games and is the birthplace of Dr William Penny Brookes. In recognition of our sporting heritage the 2012 London Olympic Games named one of their mascots Wenlock! Strolling around the town you wont see any big brands on our streets. Quaint traditional shops all offering good old-fashioned personal and friendly service. There are plenty of visitor attractions within easy reach of the town and lots of walks both in the town and in the surrounding beautiful Shropshire countryside. The World Heritage site of Ironbridge is just a few miles drive away our own 12th Century Priory and ruins at the bottom of the town are easily accessible along with The Wenlock Edge an ideal walking route and National Trust properties at Attingham and Dudmaston too. Also close by are the market towns of Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth and the food lovers haven of Ludlow.
